My Story

Shameekia McDonald is a distinguished Information Technology professional with over 15 years of experience in the field. For the past six years, she has worked as a LAN Administrator at Dominion Energy South Carolina, managing network infrastructure, supporting network operations, and ensuring system reliability.

 

Shameekia’s expertise spans network administration, cybersecurity, and IT systems management. Along with her educational endeavors in Cybersecurity, Shameekia has explored how integrating AI solutions within the energy sector creates smarter, safer, and more sustainable systems for the future. Her passion pertaining to artificial intelligence expounds on the importance of how emerging technologies can optimize performance, predict system failures, and transform how utilities serve their customers.

 

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new technologies and mentoring aspiring women in tech; combining curiosity and community to drive innovation.
